About the Role
The Development and Communications Associate is responsible for supporting and enhancing Organic Seed Alliance’s communications, fundraising, and donor engagement strategies. This includes maintaining OSA’s digital development platforms, supporting individual giving campaigns, annual reporting, donor communications, and fundraising events.
The successful candidate will be a strong communicator skilled in relationship-building, and aligned with OSA’s mission. This person will support both outward-facing storytelling and the backend coordination of development and fundraising efforts across the organization in collaboration with staff.
Responsibilities
Communications and Outreach
- Lead production of OSA communications related to annual appeal and donor event materials.
- Manage production of fundraising materials such as campaign brochures, pitch decks, thank-you letters, campaign emails, donor newsletters, and donation forms in collaboration with the Outreach Team
- Works directly with graphic designers and other contractors for additional design elements to support development and communication activities.
- Collaborate with the Executive Director and Outreach team to produce an annual report.
Donor Development
- Coordinate with program directors and staff to implement development strategies for OSA and our collaborative projects.
- Alongside the Executive Director and Financial Manager develop strategies to engage and steward donors, ensuring their continued support
- Lead the execution of fundraising campaigns including annual appeals, donor acquisition and stewardship with the Executive Director and Financial Manager.
- Work with the Outreach Team to maintain an editorial calendar to track development and donor events.
Database Management
- Maintain and segment donor and supporter contact lists in OSA’s CRM (EveryAction); support data entry and reporting.
Event Planning and Coordination
- Coordinate online and in-person donor events, webinars, and fundraising components of program events in collaboration with the Executive Director and Outreach team.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years relevant experience
- Demonstrated ability to deliver quality design and communications materials
- Demonstrated ability working with CRM and development experience
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong computer and online technology skills
- Experience in food systems and/or organic agriculture a plus
