Save the date to join the plant breeding team of the Northern Organic Vegetable Improvement Collaborative (NOVIC) for a special two-day in-depth workshop focused on organic plant breeding this August. The workshop will be held Monday, August 5 from 9 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and August 6 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in Chimacum, Washington. The course will include classroom and field-based instruction, and recommended reading materials. Prior basic seed saving knowledge recommended. NOVIC is a national initiative to breed vegetable varieties for organic agricultural systems and workshop instructors will include Dr. Jim Myers, Oregon State University; Dr. Bill Tracy, University of Wisconsin-Madison; Dr Michael Mazourek, Cornell University; and OSA researchers Micaela Colley, Laurie McKenzie, and Jared Zystro.
