Organic Seed Alliance is a proud member of IFOAM, the International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements. IFOAM was founded in the 1970s with the belief that organic agriculture is much more than just a way to treat soil, plants, and animals; it’s a holistic paradigm for sustaining life on earth.
Underpinning IFOAM’s programs and policies are the principles of health, ecology, fairness, and care. OSA stands by these principles for guiding organic policy positions, programs, and standards, and in communicating what organic agriculture can contribute to healthy and just food and farming systems in the US and beyond.
Every three years, IFOAM hosts its Organic World Congress (OWC) to provide an opportunity to trade knowledge, innovations, and experiences for increasing the positive impact of organic agriculture. The gathering brings together thousands of organic farmers, researchers, industry members, policy experts and advocates from across the globe.
IFOAM’s next OWC is happening in Rennes, France, from September 21–27, 2020, and proposals for workshops and forums are being accepted through October 21, 2019. Learn more about the event and how to submit a proposal at this link.
