Are you interested in a career in seed?

Organic Seed Alliance is hosting the Organic Seed Production Online Course, beginning in Spring of 2022. This interactive, cohort-based course is designed to supplement an on-farm organic seed production training experience.

The course includes six modules over six months and is focused on the biological, technical, and economic aspects of organic seed production. Highlights include:

  • Peer-to-peer networking and learning opportunities
  • Individualized personal and professional development mentorship
  • Seed ethics, the political landscape in seed
  • Seed as a livelihood

Want to dig into the details? Have a look at the 2022 course curriculum. Spanish translation services are available upon request.

The course is designed to supplement an on-farm seed production training experience and requires that enrolled students be simultaneously working or interning on a farm that grows seed or have access to land where they can grow seed independently.

There is no tuition fee. Apply today using the form below. Questions? Contact Ana Galvis.

Application Deadline: March 20, 2022

Interested in Being a Mentor?

Seed production mentorship is an important part of this course. We are looking for seed mentors in the Southwest, Northeast, Midwest and Southern regions of the U.S. Learn more about what being a mentor entails.

If you are an experienced seed grower, able to dedicate roughly two hours a month to mentoring a beginning seed grower, please email Michael Lordon about this paid opportunity!

This work is supported by the Beginning Farmer and Rancher Development Program from the USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture.
