Spring NOSB Meeting to Take Place in Atlanta – Submit Comments by April 5

The NOSB meets twice a year to share recommendations and hear directly from the organic community

The National Organic Standards Board (NOSB) meets twice a year in a public forum to discuss and vote on proposals that aim to improve and clarify the organic regulations. The NOSB’s first meeting of 2023 will take place in Atlanta, GA, from April 25 – 27. Public comment webinars will take place on April 18 and 19. All of these details, including the meeting agenda and documents up for discussion, can be found here.

The NOSB’s Materials/GMO Subcommittee is asking for input on an excluded methods discussion document (begins on page 106). Your input is essential to the public policy making process and helps to strengthen the integrity of the organic label. If you’re a plant breeder, social scientist, seed grower, farmer, policy advocate, or other, check out these materials and then get involved by submitting comments no later than April 5, 2023 (the deadline for written comments).

And if you’re attending the meeting in person, don’t forget to arrive early to attend the National Organic Coalition’s Pre-NOSB Meeting on April 24. Check out the agenda and register to save your seat by April 20.
