Seeds are the foundation of our food system, and there’s no better place to connect with organic seed growers than the upcoming Organic Seed Growers Conference in Corvallis, Oregon. Set for February 26 – March 1, 2025, this landmark event brings together the most passionate and knowledgeable voices in organic seed production. OSA is excited to share that speakers and sessions for the conference have been announced, with additions to come in the coming weeks.
This year’s theme, “Weaving Visions of Organic Seed Communities,” celebrates the interconnected nature of seed stewardship while acknowledging the diverse histories that shape our agricultural heritage. The conference features renowned keynote speaker Vivien Sansour, founder of the Palestine Heirloom Seed Library, whose artistic approach to seed conservation is part of her effort to to bring threatened varieties “back to the dinner table to become part of our living culture rather than a relic of the past”.
With over 90 speakers, hands-on pre-conference intensives, and specialized programming for both beginners and advanced growers, the conference offers something for everyone interested in organic seed production. Unique pre-conference offerings include a Spanish-language Seed Intensive, an Intellectual Property Rights on Seed Symposium, and a Farm Tour of Willamette Valley seed facilities.
Whether you’re a seasoned seed producer, researcher, or curious about the future of organic agriculture, this conference is an excellent opportunity to connect with the organic seed community.
