Welcoming New Board Members

We are honored to welcome Jim Myers and Mary Saunders Bulan to the OSA Board of Directors.

Jim Myers

Jim Myers recently retired after a distinguished career as Baggett-Frazier Endowed Professor of Vegetable Breeding and Genetics at Oregon State University (OSU). His work has been dedicated to improving vegetable varieties for disease resistance, nutrition, and organic production systems. Jim has a long history with OSA, dating back to the early 2000s, and his expertise in organic breeding will be invaluable to our work.

Mary Saunders Bulan

Mary is an agroecologist and regenerative farmer based in Black Mountain, North Carolina, where she grows seeds as a member of the Appalachian Growers Seed Collective. She brings extensive experience, including academic training in farming systems, crop genetics, and ethnobiology, and served for ten years as an agriculture professor. Mary currently works for NC State Extension in the Department of Horticultural Science. She deeply reveres the seed keepers and ancestors, making her a vital voice for seed stewardship on the board.
