The virtual conference is being offered virtually from November 5th through the 14th, followed by hand-on on-farm intensives at locations throughout the Carolinas on November 15th.
The annual conference draws farmers, foodies, researchers, educators, and activists for celebration of innovation in local sustainable agriculture. Educational workshops and panels, inspiring talks, and tours by industry leaders are interspersed with social opportunities, exhibits, and networking.
Southeast Seed Growing Intensive

Join OSA’s Jared Zystro, Chris Smith from Utopian Seed Project, Ira Wallace from Southern Exposure Seed Exchange, Jason Roland from Organically Roland Farm, and Gabrielle Eitienne for a full-day intensive focused on creating a foundational understanding of seed growing in the Southeast. The workshop will cover some of the basics of seed saving, including the technical, practical, and economic aspects of the craft, and aims to be as hands-on as possible with opportunities to process a wide range of seeds with different methods and technologies. Speakers will discuss seed contracts and working with seed companies, first-hand experience of being a contract seed grower, the importance of seed saving and cultural preservation, as well as knowledge, information, and stories of seed growing and seed saving from different regions around the country. A boxed lunch is included.
