40th International Carrot Conference

We hope you’ll join us in person for the 40th International Carrot Conference August 29 – 30, 2022, in Mount Vernon, Washington. OSA’s WA-based research team will be participating and sharing about our work with the Carrot Improvement for Organic Agriculture (CIOA) and Canadian Organic Vegetable Improvement (CANOVI) projects. Monday’s agenda will include a full day of sessions focused on disease management, genetics/breeding, and production/marketing. Tuesday will be a full day of field tours throughout the region.

The event is held every 18 to 24 months and its purpose is to bring together everyone and anyone interested in carrots, including growers, packers, shippers, seed producers, breeders, pathologists, sellers, marketers, University and government researchers, extension specialists, students, and anyone interested in the carrot industry.

The submission deadline for oral and poster presentations is July 21, 2022.

Proposal details

Conference registration includes oral and poster sessions, lunch and dinner both days, printed proceedings, and field tours. Registration costs:

  • US $200 until June 30
  • US $250 from July 1 to August 25 (pre-registration closes)
  • ​US $300 for on-site registration.

Cathleen McCluskey is the Executive Director at Organic Seed Alliance. Her interdisciplinary research on the ways in which context influences the relationship between humans and seed helps guide the organization in further stewarding equitable, inclusive programs rooted in participatory methodologies and aimed at putting the power of seed in the hands of growers.
