Community Field Day and Tasting in Redcrest, CA

Join Organic Seed Alliance’s Jared Zystro for a Community Field Day and Tasting in Redcrest, California, on September 5th, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Come on out to tour, taste, and learn about some of what our California research team has been working on this season. The day will include a field tour and organic produce tasting. We’ll be featuring sweet corn from the Northern Organic Vegetable Improvement Collaborative (NOVIC), and tomatoes from three organic breeding projects including the Tomato Organic Management Improvement (TOMI), Student Collaborative Organic Plant Breeding Education (SCOPE), and Tomatoes from Organic Seed Alliance (TOSA) projects. We’ll also have the opportunity to tour variety trials in the field featuring tomatoes, sweet corn, and sweet peppers.

Cathleen McCluskey is the Executive Director at Organic Seed Alliance. Her interdisciplinary research on the ways in which context influences the relationship between humans and seed helps guide the organization in further stewarding equitable, inclusive programs rooted in participatory methodologies and aimed at putting the power of seed in the hands of growers.
