Have you tasted a habanero pepper with heat mild enough to showcase its sweetness? Or a deep indigo colored tomato bursting with flavor that beautifies every salad? How about beets that are deliciously mild and sweet? Gnocchi made with colored carrots? Sweet corn ice cream? The creativity that we see at Farm to Flavor events goes on and on.
Join OSA and the Seed to Kitchen Collaborative for the 5th annual Farm to Flavor on September 12th, in Madison, Wisconsin, and taste what the plant breeders and chefs dream up this year.
This unconventional tasting event celebrates biodiversity in food through small plate dishes from Madison’s talented chefs. You’ll get to connect with farmers, chefs, and plant breeders and hear about their roles in building a more just and resilient food system.
The chefs involved in the Seed to Kitchen Collaborative evaluate hundreds of vegetable varieties every season, providing valuable feedback to plant breeders around the country. Farm to Flavor is their chance to share what they’ve learned with you by featuring their favorite varieties in a dish of their own design. Check out the event flyer.
