(SOLD OUT) Field Day: Ferry Boat Seeds & Salish Seed Project

Join Organic Seed Alliance in the San Juan Islands!


Farm 1: Ferry Boat Seeds | 11 am – 12:30 pm | August 1, 2025 | San Juan Island, WA 

Visit Brook and Louisa Brouwer of Ferry Boat Seeds to learn about their flower seed variety trial and seed production. Field day participants will also tour vegetable seed production fields and their seed cleaning facility. 

Lunch on your own in downtown Friday Harbor, 12:45-1:45pm

Farm 2: The Salish Seed Project | 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm | August 1, 2025 | San Juan Island, WA 

The Salish Seeds Project nursery produces plants, seeds, and bulbs of species native to San Juan County’s grassland and oak savannah habitats. This outing will provide an introduction to production methods, contracting, and the organizations contribution to ecological restoration projects.   


Transportation Information: 

Transportation to the Islands can be difficult. We recommend walking aboard the Anacortes to Friday Harbor Ferry then boarding the Organic Seed Alliance tour bus. Remember to select a van ticket during registration.

  • Bus pick up: Ferry Terminal at 10:30 am, look for an OSA sign!
  • Lunch Drop off and Pick up: Ferry Terminal at 12:45 pm and 1:45 pm
  • Bus Drop off: Ferry Terminal at 3:15 pm, look for OSA sign!

To drive yourself, reserve a ferry ticket. Reservations open on 7 am on Wednesday, July 30th. 

If you are local, you will be given the address to each farm the day before the event.

These events are free of charge, though pre-registration is required. Transportation assistance is available, please email susana@seedalliance.org.
