August 15, 2018
4:00 p.m. | Fresh Roots Farm | 41041 Mountain View Rd | Polson, Montana 59860

Join OSA and Farmer Field Day hosts Community Food and Agriculture Coalition and Farm Link Montana on August 15, 2018, for this field day focused on organic seed production. Fresh Roots Farm is a certified organic vegetable, small fruit, and seed farm. Farmers Karl Sutton and Darci Jones specialize in cool and warm season annual and biennial seed crops, strawberries, and a variety of vegetables. Karl will talk about producing organic vegetable seed crops and how they have made this production a featured part of their crop mix so that they have products to sell outside the growing season.

This workshop is one of several Farmer Field Days planned for the 2018 season. These are a unique opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes look, learn from farmers who have done it before, and network with other beginning farmers and ranchers. The field day is geared toward people who are just at the beginning of their farm training- farm hands, interns, folks thinking about starting a farm in the near future, and those who are currently in the startup process. Of course, established farmers and ranchers are welcome too!

Please RSVP ahead of time so that we can have a good estimate of numbers in advance.

For more information and to RSVP, visit the Farmer Field Days page on Farm Link Montana.
