6 AM Pacific | Virtual

Organic Seed Alliance is pleased to be participating in IFOAM Organics International’s upcoming event, Our Seeds, Our Future: Protecting Biodiversity and Farmers’ Rights. Don’t miss the featured panel, including our own Executive Director, Laurajean Lewis. Read on to learn more and follow the button below to register!

Seeds are more than the foundation of our food—they are the key to resilience, community strength, and environmental health. Yet, across the world, restrictive policies and corporate control threaten farmers’ ability to save, share, and develop seeds, putting ecosystems and local food systems at risk.

To mark the International Day of Seeds, IFOAM is bringing together a panel of global experts for an insightful discussion on protecting seed sovereignty, resisting corporate influence, and strengthening farmers’ rights. From grassroots movements to innovative seed networks, speakers will share strategies to ensure a future where farmers, breeders, and communities thrive.

Date: April 23rd 2025

Time: 6:00 AM Pacific

Speakers:

  • Daniel Wanjama – Seed Savers Kenya & Intercontinental Network of Organic Farmers Organisations
  • Edwin Nuijten – Chairperson, ECO-PB
  • Laurajean Lewis – Executive Director, Organic Seed Alliance (USA)
  • Nicolas Enjalbert – CEO, SeedLinked
  • Nurfitri Amir Muhammad – Malaysian Food Security and Sovereignty Forum (FKMM)

Moderator:

  • David Gould – General Secretary, IFOAM Seeds Platform

Join us for this vital conversation and be part of the movement to protect farmers’ rights and the future of our food. If you can’t attend at the scheduled time, register anyway—the organizers will send you the recording so you won’t miss out.
