Join Organic Seed Alliance on Tuesday, March 31st for a Virtual Organic Seed Gathering! This event focuses on bringing PNW seed growers together to learn and collaborate. Together we learn from Kalan Redwood about the Western Organic Flower Seed Production Trial (WSARE), which aims to make a positive change in how flowers are grown, both for their seeds and the cut flower market. We will wrap up the evening with community discussions.

Kalan Redwood of Redwood Seeds
Redwood Seeds officially began in 2009 after several years of experimenting and growing for other companies. Today, most of our seeds are grown right here on our farm, with others sourced from other small-scale organic farmers. We specialize in Certified Organic, heirloom, and open-pollinated varieties adapted to diverse climates—from high mountains to hot valleys and coastal regions. Our farming practices include crop rotation, interplanting, cover cropping, no-till methods, and water conservation. We’re proud supporters of the Open Source Seed Initiative, ensuring gardeners can save and share seed freely. We choose varieties for flavor, resilience, and adaptability—seeds that perform beautifully in our Mediterranean climate and beyond. Whether you’re growing in a backyard, a community plot, or on a farm, our goal is the same: to help you grow fresh, healthy, delicious food while preserving seed diversity for the future.

This Virtual Gathering and Field day is made possible through the Transition to Organic Partnership program and Western SARE.
