California Seed Stakeholders Meeting: EcoFarm, January 23rd

California Seed Stakeholders Meeting

Thursday, January 23, 2014

2:00 – 3:30 p.m.

EcoFarm, Asilomar, CA (in the Sanderling room)

California currently produces the most vegetable seed, but many of the state’s organic producers believe they are underserved by the seed industry. What can be done?

Come to a seed stakeholders meeting to learn how you can engage in expanding organic seed availability, quality, and integrity for California producers. You’ll hear about progress made in 2013 to build organic seed research and education networks in the state, and have an opportunity to weigh in on the needs and opportunities for expanding organic seed development, distribution, and marketing. You’ll also learn how breeders, farmers, NGOs, and the private sector fit into new and existing models.

Plans for collaboration are already underway for 2014. Be a part of it by joining this important meeting!

While you’re at EcoFarm, you can also deepen your seed knowledge with these two workshops co-led by OSA’s Jared Zystro: “Organic Seed Production Basics” on Friday at 10:30 a.m. and “On-Farm Variety Improvement” on Friday at 1:30 p.m.

For more information, contact Jared Zystro.
