Learn How to Grow Organic Seed and Breed New Varieties

Join usĀ for a one-day field based course on organic plant breeding and seed production. Nationally renowned plant breeders from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Organic Seed Alliance with lead this training at University of California-Davis on August 10, 2017.

Participants will learn basic principles to evaluate, develop, improve, and maintain both cross-pollinated and self-pollinated plant varieties for their farm. The training will also include a brief overview of seed biology, how to manage population size and isolation distances and seed production, harvesting, cleaning, and storage best practices.

When: August 10, 2017
Where: The classroom component will take place at the University of California-Davis located at 1200 Ext Circle Drive in Davis, CA. The field component will be held at the UC Davis Student Farm.
Cost: $25 includes training and catered lunch
