NOSB to Discuss Seed Integrity this Spring

Join OSA in Tucson, AZ, next month for the spring meeting of the National Organic Standards Board (NOSB) from April 25 – 27. One seed-related document is on the agenda, a discussion document focused on how best to address the genetic integrity of seed used by organic growers (i.e., avoiding GMO contamination). Your feedback on this document and other seed topics — remember the NOSB is also discussing excluded methods and a proposal to strengthen the organic seed requirement — is critical to the policy making process.

Find the discussion document here (page 175) and the link for submitting your written comments here. Written comments are due April 4, 2018. You can also provide public comments via two webinars on April 17 and 19 (register at this link). And if you’re headed to Tucson, don’t forget to RSVP for the National Organic Coalition’s pre-NOSB meeting on April 24. Questions? Contact OSA’s Kiki Hubbard.
