Seed Internship Program: Apply Today to Learn Seed Skills or Become a Mentor

The Seed Internship Program is now accepting applications for the 2019 growing season. Are you an experienced seed grower looking for interns to help on your farm? Or are you a future seed producer looking for a farm internship where you can learn how to grow seed? The Seed Internship Program was created to match future seed growers excited to build their skills with experienced seed producers excited to train the next generation of seed growers.

The program combines online and classroom learning, farm-based independent study, and real-world experience through a diverse network of family farms. The program is hosted by OSA and the Multinational Exchange for Sustainable Agriculture (MESA).

Become an Intern

The Seed Internship Program matches interns with host farms that provide on-farm experience and formal training in seed production. The six-month program offers interns:

  • Online, class, and field-based education
  • Independent studies on the host farm
  • Experience with the organic seed trade

Become a Host

The Seed Internship Program helps match highly motivated interns with host farms. The program gives you training support materials and your workers access to seed production curriculum. Hosts receive:

  • Assistance with matching the right intern for your farm
  • Educational materials, webinars, and other support
