Michigan TOPP Monthly Drop-in Organic Farming Q & A

Event Details

August 5, 2026
Zoom I 12 - 1 EST
August 5, 2026 12:00PM – 1:00PM Noon to 1pm ET

Join OSA’s Michael Lordon and Michigan’s TOPP Technicians Alex, Kim and Sam for monthly drop-in office hours to chat all things organic farming. Some of the topics we may cover include:

  • organic production techniques–cultivation, crop rotation, variety selection, integrated pest management, etc
  • input sourcing–where to source NOP-approved inputs
  • cost-share opportunities–certification cost share, NRCS EQIP organic practices
  • record-keeping options–templates, software, spreadsheets, etc.
  • marketing–how to identify and connect with organic markets
  • choosing an organic certifier
  • understanding the certification process
  • and more!

This will be a recurring, monthly 1-hour Zoom session open to drop-in. No registration necessary. Sessions will be held the 1st Wednesday of the month from 12-1pm. We hope this can help support you on your organic journey, and even foster cross-pollination among organic farmers for skill-sharing.

This session is open to ALL organic, transitioning or curious producers, not just TOPP participants.ZOOM Link: https://msu.zoom.us/j/94407160761
Passcode:TOPP

DON’T FORGET – the MI TOPP website has a wealth of resources and information for organic and transitioning farmers, including recordings of all our past webinar series.

This event is supported through the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Transition to Organic Partnership Program (TOPP). TOPP is a program of the USDA Organic Transition Initiative and is administered by the USDA Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) National Organic Program (NOP). Additional support is provided by the Blooming Prairie Foundation.
