September 29, 2019
12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. | The Mushroom Farm | 6150 Cabrillo Highway | Pescadero, California

Join Organic Seed Alliance’s Steve Peters for our 2nd annual Organic Research Farm Field Day at The Mushroom Farm in Pescadero, CA. The field day will feature vegetable seed produced without using irrigation or ‘dry farming’ conditions. We’ll take a look at several seed crops we’re growing under dry farming conditions, including tomatoes, squash, cucumbers, beans, broccoli, and carrots. An extensive long-term tomato improvement project now in its third year will be on display with many unique and interesting breeding populations derived from crosses between heirlooms and modern cultivars. Of course, tasting the fruit is wholeheartedly encouraged! This event is free and open to the public.

Crops: Beans, Broccoli, Carrots, Cucumbers, Tomatoes

Regions: California
