Farm description:Community farm with several families, 2 acres dedicated to food forest production and 3 acres available for vegetable production and seed breeding. This year we are working with adapting several Amazonian superfoods with the intent of starting a new line of nutraceuticals.
In addition we are conducting a research and development project with an established seed breeding company to grow out a wide variety of saved seeds to evaluate and select for future breeding stock.
Internship description:We are looking for 2-3 interns to live on our farm and assist with our seed trials and breeding programs as well as our Amazonian superfood project. In addition we will be working on several natural building projects that the interns will have the opportunity to work on.
Interns will be required to work 30 hours a week on seed projects with an additional 10 hours a week split between natural building, farm maintenance and creative/art projects.

Would you be able to provide financial compensation for an intern? If so, what form would this be in?Monthly stipend and bonus for completion of the full season. Motivated and skilled interns may have the opportunity to work above and beyond the internship requirements on limited basis for an hourly rate to supplement their stipend.
Would you be able to provide housing and amenities for an intern? If so, what form would this be in?Interns will have the choice of living in a 20’ geodesic dome or a studio apartment with loft, both with access to outdoor kitchen, bath and shower.
Are you able to provide educational on-farm training for an intern?In addition to hands on seed breeding and production skills, Interns will be receiving and participating in the co-creation of the Mindful Earth Farm permaculture design course as well.
All interns are encouraged to participate in the OSA’s seed production course throughout the season.
